EGYPTE
This poetic series of texts, one in the form of a letter to the photographer, is a meditation on Egypt as seen through the images of photographer Bernard Plossu. It is purely imagined, as Carole Naggar had not yet traveled to Egypt at that time.
“Le photographe relit ses photos et interrogee, à travers ells, sa vie et ce qu’il a quitté. L’âme se retourne vers le corps qu’elle vient d’abandonner et qu’elle regrette.Lui fait ses adieux.
Sans elle, le corps n’est plus qu’une effigie.(…) Sur les pains de bois des tombes, les morts ne se cassent pas les dents: Ils mangent. Nous autres vivants, tu le sais, préférons dévorer des photographies.”
