Between 1972 and 1981, before institutions and galleries opened their doors to photography and invented the market, photography in France went through a great cultural change. Moving away from photography icons such as Cartier-Bresson and Edward Weston, young photographers explored new avenues of practice. My essay, Ces années-là, journal de bord.
(During Those Years) is a diary that recounts my experience as a journalist, art critic, and one of the founder members of Editions Contrejour, a publishing house that was instrumental to the period.
