The Spells series continues the theme of unreadable text often present in my work. The title Spells is a wordplay: it has two meanings, the utterance of sounds, as if by a schoolboy learning to read and write, and the magic spells cast by a witch. The unreadable fragments seem to appear and disappear in-between flows of color, as if leaking from the ground or from the sky.
