This memoir recounts Carole Naggar’s return to a country that she left with her parents as a child when Nasser expelled the Jews of Egypt in the erarly 1950s. It is a poetic meditation on a lost country and how exile affected her as a person and a writer. The book is illustrated with black and white photographs made by the author in Cairo and Alexandria in the early and mid 1980s.
